Today I am starting a 3 card series called the Art of Stamping.
Sometimes we all stamp to create a quick card. Sometimes we stamp because we love the art of creating. This series will focus on 3 sets that at first glance feel like they may need a bit of ‘something’ to bring them to life.
Each card will have a few different techniques – some will overlap – you can do as many or as few on any card that you choose. Layered together they will make your card much more a work of art that some of the projects we do together.
Today’s card uses the Stamparatus, Blending Brushes and the fabulous Gilded Leafing.
I wanted an “Old Italy” feel to the card. At it’ simplest, add your ink with layers using blending brushes gives stunning results to the image. But heat embossing and gilded leafing take it up a notch to that Art level!
I am in the process of getting my Try It Class together – those of you in it, the goal is to have it in the mail by Tuesday. Right now our home is covered in piles and piles of paper! Next post I will show you what THAT looks like!
