Celebrate Sunflowers & Sponged Background Tutorial

Today’s tutorial falls under the bright and sunny category for sure!

It’s not a card for those of you who like them super quick, but it doesn’t take long to get some colorful results!

Here we go:

We are having our FIRST team get together since the woes of 2020 – it’s tomorrow.  It’s a shoebox swap  – so this is one of the cards I am doing from the Annual Catalog….since we never had the chance to stamp together when that was new.  My Holiday card was the Poinsettia, but then I made the leaf wreath…so now they are getting 3 from me….I am a more is more is more kinda gal, lol.

This card throws in a lot of fun little techniques for all of us who love the ART of making cards.

First, the sunflower is embossed on two pieces of shimmer white…so we use the Stamparatus to get correct placing for those.

Then I sponged 4 shades of Summer (or fall!) in an ombre of yellows.

Use a combination of stamp pads and markers to color in your sunflower.

 

And finally layer them with double dimensionals and add a bunch of texture with wood, brass, velvet paper and a splatter of ink!

You will have such fun creating this!
