Stampin’ Up! has 3 pretty significant announcements today.
*Red Rubber stamps will be discontinued (soon)
(which also leads to)
*Stampin’ Write markers being discontinued (immediately)
*Changes to the packaging that both the stamps and dies come in
Much more information below!
Today’s tutorial does feature a Cling stamp…it’s a Sneak Peek (red rubber continues til a product is retired – I will add a timeline in my next blog post). This beautiful Autumn Toile suite will be featured as our September Card Club.
Because there are TWO bundles in the suite…I have yet to decide which one to use for the Club Cards and which will be the bonus set for September. I need to play with the other one to see which inspires me the most!
These pumpkins are so much fun to color…and if you don’t think you can color – then just watch the step by step in the tutorial.
I used Wink of Stella and my ink pads – and not many colors.
The images are also stamped in Espresso and I continue my obsession this summer NOT stamping in a black ink!
The die frame included in this bundle is beautiful. In order to really showcase it AND the DSP, I only used half a frame.
Coming this September there are two fun ‘brown’ based embellishments (one in each of the autumn suites). I couldn’t decide WHICH to use – so on this card I just went with both : )

Why the change from red rubber (cling) stamps?
There are a variety of reasons – one of the biggest in the deciding factor to move away from Red Rubber?? It’s that it has become increasingly more difficult to even BUY the raw materials to make the red rubber stamps. Sources are drying up for this material and the end to the cling stamps would have come in the near future. Stampin’ Up! has chosen to be proactive and have the timeline take effect when they were in control of what stamps are available to purchase.
If you are like me – I bought the set because I loved it – never really taking into consideration if it is photopolymer or red rubber.
That said, Photopolymer Stamps (which are produced in Utah by Stampin’ Up!) have become increasingly better since they were introduced to us years ago. They can now be carved much more detailed holding up to even our Disinktive and background stamp lines. Of course being able to see where you place them is a bonus! More details to come in regards to the timing of this change.
Stampin Write Markers leaving
Our Stampin’ Write markers have seen a steady decline in sales ever since the Blends were introduced. Blends do so much better in coloring. That left the main use for the Markers to color ON stamps. While you ‘can’ color directly onto photopolymer, the results fare much better on red rubber. With the Cling stamps leaving, effective immediately the markers are on the Last Chance List. If you love them and need to stock up on them…get them now.
I still have the ORIGINAL markers I purchased when we first started carrying them, they will last you a long time!
Starting with the November Online Exclusives all new stamps/dies will come in new packaging
*Dies and Stamps will have the SAME SIZE storage case so you can have your bundles stay together
*Dies will have the images PRINTED ON THE COVER. This is the change that excites me the most! I am always trying to figure out what die goes where!
*New packaging measures 5-5/8″ x 9″ (much larger than the current die case)
*If you prefer to have all your items the same both the CURRENT and NEW packaging will be available for sale if you want to move them to one form or the other.
