When you see this new die in the upcoming catalog you might be like me and think…..Hmmmm…That is sure beautiful. But I wonder just how easy can it be to cut out?? Don’t worry. I got it for you – and the answer is here:
ARE YOU COMPLETELY SHOCKED? If you say no – then you are not telling the truth, lol. I mean that is just CRAZY easy!!! One pass and a couple of tips. But one pass through. NO SPECIAL shims – nothing from the kitchen (ya’all know me – I don’t venture downstairs from my studio to the kitchen for hacks – I make my Stamp tools do the work they were designed to do!).
If it wasn’t easy (and easier than many, many, many dies that have come before) I would not have chosen it to use for my Leaders swaps.
As you heard in the video it isn’t the design that started in my head – but I am pleased with how it turned out.
The stamps in Butterfly Wishes are distinktive – so I didn’t want to use too much color and loose the detail. I also wanted a light vintage look, so the ink needed to be dark enough that you could see it, but not dark enough that it overwhelmed my paper lace.
So Gray Granite (I know, it’s weird that Gray is my favorite color, lots of you tell me!) and just a few light touches of Watercolor Pencils – YEA for Assortment 2 coming back to us in the new catalog!
A little bit of Linen Thread and a bow of some of my spool of dyed Olive tulle ribbon. Of course when we swap we often don’t know how many to make. This is not a card I want to take any home of -so here is a few of the spares that I am making. They will be extra Thank you cards to have on hand in the future. Same concept….but #simplestamping
While the card itself does not have any retiring items ON it, please note: I DO use the Big Shot BRUSH – it is pretty important (WATCH THE VIDEO) in the use of this die. There IS a new piece that will fit on the end of the Take Your Pick tool that looks like it will do the same thing – but if you do classes or feel like you may just need a spare brush only – get it soon. I checked this morning and it was on low inventory. And of course the Big Shot is leaving the Stampin’ Up! catalog (as are all things made by Sizzix) as Stampin’ Up! now makes their own dies (is THAT why this was so terribly easy to cut??!), but the Die Cut machine is not ready for market yet. If you have nothing, you may want to get a Big Shot til there is something else. (It’s ok – as I say in this video, I have three, lol).
One Stamp set – 2 cards – One FABULOUS die!! Order it on June 4th before it goes on Backorder from being in high demand! Check back the last week of May – I am considering making this one of my free online class sets for June!
