How will you spend your weekend? It’s a great weekend to grab a bit of ink and some water and work on your watercolor!
I find it so relaxing…watercolor has been an artform that has literally been around for ages! It is enjoying a resurgence again and as card makers we are fortunate that we already find all the tools we need in our stash.
Think you don’t have the skills? Well, think again! It’s so easy and there is a new little set that is so perfect for working with water color.
Here I don’t even blend colors – it’s straight up color added with water! So simple
I told you.
For this card I opted to use refills, but you can use markers, ink pads, water color pencils – any of the ‘colors’ you have available.
Blends won’t work as they dry too quickly.
Refills will give you the most color with just a little squeeze so you won’t find yourself replenishing it all the time.
I used the smallest water painter in the set. Although the supplier of the water painter will no longer be making the water painters, so once they are gone they are gone for good.
I still have my Aqua Painters but there was not a small tip option with those and I rarely use anything BUT the small tip. The other sized tips would be fine for coloring the frames.
You can use a paint brush of course – but the video gives you my FAVORITE option….and it’s a bonus ‘freebie’ recycled one too, so don’t miss that!
I wish I had the time to sit and color in all 5 little scenes…..but OnStage is barreling down upon me (we leave Wednesday morning) and I have a list a MILE long to complete before then. Maybe I will pack some up to color on the plane!
