Recently Stampin’ Up! hosted an online class on using the Soft Pastels.  (one of the many fun perks of being a Demonstrator!).  I was asked to be one of 4 who shared some techniques and ways to create fun projects with the Pastels.

For the background – I started with the Pearlescent paper and alcohol. I was obsessed with this technique earlier this year, but this time I used the Pastels in place of the ink refills.

The amount of chalk that is on the background is so pretty and the mix of the alcohol adds some new color blending as it mixes.  BUT, it does need to be set, so I added clear and then gold embossing powder to take care of that issue.

That also adds to the fun art style background.

For the focal image I used Heat and Stick powder and a mix of scrapings of the greens on top of that.  You can see the different color combinations from the 2 times I did it – all from which of the greens you add more of.
