Have you ever wished you could watercolor your cards and have them look like you ‘knew’ what you were doing? It really is easier than you think!
It takes practice. When you have a nice large image to work with that makes a huge difference as well!
The new Country Birdhouse is a perfect example. Lots of space to work in and so many color choices for both the birdhouse stamp, the build a birdhouse die, the bird and then all those flowers!
Using the Fluid 100 Watercolor paper is a must. Any other cardstock won’t stand to the amount of water that you will need to add.
You can see in the video how to keep layering your colors til you get the effect. Many times once my card is ‘done’ I go back and add a couple of highlights of a stronger color in just a couple of places. It makes all the difference!
You want to make sure that your ink will withstand the amount of water too! This is especially true when you live in a more humid environment. In the winter I could have made this with a Memento pad, but with our rainy spring and open windows -the Stazon is a must.
I also love the brown Stazon pad for a lighter overall look to this card.
