Oh my goodness – has life been a whirlwind! I am just back from Orlando and the celebration of Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary….and you know just days before that I was home from Orlando from more than a week at Disney with my family. Thankfully I see the new year coming….because it isn’t until 2019 rolls in that my calendar really sees much of a break! Thankfully most of the upcoming action takes place IN Indiana for the rest of the year! So many things I want to try to cram into this one post….. I had recorded 4 videos with the intent to post while we were at On Stage – but the internet at both our condo and the convention center were so slow that I decided to just enjoy the time and wait til I was home – so the videos ARE freshly posted…even though they were recorded a few days ago!
FIRST – the link to my first video this week is above – just click the picture. I will get back to that in just a tick…
Just a couple of things about this Orlando trip (there will be more to come – because NEW STAMPS!). The first full day in Orlando we spent at Animal Kingdom. I have been a demonstrator a loooong time. I joined in 1995, my daughter was born in 94 – so it’s the way I can easily remember how long I have been a demonstrator. Those of us in the picture above were attending Stampin’ Up! events in our early 30s. We are not in our 30’s anymore – but this trip we logged by FAR the most steps of ANY of them for sure!
The newest member of my group is actually a friend that I have known since I lived in Australia – it was SO MUCH fun catching up with her and spending the week together. I love that this hobby brings people together. Not only did I get to spend time with Heather again – but now my friends are her friends. Love that.
Here are us young ladies on the roller coaster! We had fun riding rides at Animal Kingdom and again the next day enjoying Epcot together.
Here is a picture of the first convention I went to – and the rides we rode after that one – at the Mall of America. Tonya and I look a lot younger, but our kids are now a High School teacher and IN college…so their change is a little more dramatic. They have known nothing but life with Stampin’ Up! as part of it.
Now – let’s get back to today’s video! It features a BUNCH of cards using the Snowflake Showcase. It is a set of products that is ONLY available in November (or while supplies last). AND since the taping of my videos the Velvet paper has sold out. SO…..some of the highlights of the videos – well, just ignore those!
The original card I based my swap off of did use the Velvet paper. This card I did for my swaps – I changed it to something more cost effective (and I had only been able to order 2 sheets prior to leaving for On Stage – so it wasn’t an option anyway!). I did spritz my cardstock with shimmer that I used for the snowflakes. That way I was able to keep the card itself with a more matte feel, while the snowflakes glisten. My inspiration was a gingerbread feel. Crossing my fingers that the Buffalo Check makes it into the carryover portion after the Holiday Catalog retires – I just LOVE it. But – there is some charming Gingham paper headed your way! It is some great colors of spring!
If you want to see the video with the original card – you can find that link here:

These snowflake cards are the best – I was struck by your idea of gingerbread. Would you possibly let me use one of your pics for a fb post urging the purchase of these before the end of the month? I promise I will happily credit you!!

Sorry – I didn’t see this until today! I am changing over to WordPress and I don’t have all of the notifications set apparently – I didn’t get anything until I logged into the front. Sorry. In the future – you are welcome to use anything you like – just provide credit!

Thanks! The Buffalo Check is most certainly one of my Faves! If it sticks around I can’t wait to use it in some spring colors with some new Occasions stamps!
