Ok guys....I have taken the tired to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. I have so very many things to show you. And such little energy to muster up to do it, lol. This card is one of my favorites that I have created....just thinking about the work to write this makes me want to take a nap! Last weekend my two co-workers and I hosted INStage - which was a huge success! But as with any big event - it was a lot of prep work, set up, the day of the event - and then usual unpack and decompress day....(oh, … [Read more...] about Display Glass Technique – or faux floating frame – with Stampin’ Up! Predjama Castle Slovenia – the Original Stojkovich Stomping Grounds
Following our longer stay in Italy - we ended this European trip in Slovenia. My husband's mom was Italian (from Trieste) and his father was from Slovenia. We started the Slovenia part of the trip just over the border in Piran with a couple of days enjoying the beach and decompressing, doing laundry and taking a short breath before the final stretch. One of our favorite stops was to Predjama Castle. Generations before of his family could have walked this country-side. What a fun … [Read more...] about Predjama Castle Slovenia – the Original Stojkovich Stomping Grounds
Australia Trip 2014
For so many of you a trip to Australia is a bucket list - for us - it's "going home" It is where I met my husband, where we lived when we first were married and where our daughter was born. She gets the best of both worlds in being half Aussie and half American. In a world where money was not an issue and it didn't take so many hours to get there - we would not wait so long between trips. We have so many happy memories and so many dear friends and family there. At some point I … [Read more...] about Australia Trip 2014
It's Been Almost a Year….Time to Document Some of Our Irish Adventures!
In March of 2017 we took a 2 week trip to Scotland and Iceland. As we were flying home from Iceland - they needed volunteers to give up their seats in exchange for some freebies from the airline. We couldn't take them up on their deluxe offer because we had to still get home that same day. They routed us to a different city and gave us each a free round trip ticket to use within a year of anywhere they flew. Due to the crazy busy year we had we literally had no days to use the tickets until … [Read more...] about It's Been Almost a Year….Time to Document Some of Our Irish Adventures!
Honey Buttermilk Bread and Pumpkin Soup!
It's that time of year when you know spring is 'springing' and you are not quite sure when it might "stick" I tend to cook seasonally - there are just some big No's in our house. Once the weather warms there won't be another pot of chili or stew til that first frost hits again sometime in October. It can be a problem in September when the Colts kick off and it is still humid and 100 and it seems like you 'need' some chili, but that would be a huge exception. So now that it's March and we … [Read more...] about Honey Buttermilk Bread and Pumpkin Soup!
2018 Sneak Peek! Aussie Animal Outing mixed with Nature’s Poem
When you attend a Stampin' Up! event it is usually the practice that in our welcome bag (which is always a trendy fun kind bag in itself!) there is at least one stamp set inside. In Atlanta it was this adorable little set called "Animal Outing" Of course the Roo with the Koala in her pouch was my favorite part of the set! You can see how I created the card in the video here (or go to YouTube to watch directly to see it a bit better!) Some of you may have seen … [Read more...] about 2018 Sneak Peek! Wrapping Up Day Six in Scotland Down in the Borders
Day Six of our Scottish adventure was one for the record books. We crammed so much in to it. We started the morning off in the beautiful Highland Mountains of Glencoe. This could be one of the most stunning places on earth. We stopped off for a look at Inverary Castle for our own little Downton Abbey experience. We drove through the Trossachs and Loch Lomand to stop for tea where I had lived in the 80s. We had reservations to stay that night in a Bed and … [Read more...] about Wrapping Up Day Six in Scotland Down in the Borders
Dumbarton Scotland – Lunch at Overtoun House
Getting closer to finishing up the pictures from our 2017 Sottish Adventure......challenge is on to get them all done before we leave for Ireland in a few weeks. Unfortunately day 6 is taking several posts, and this one won't finish it up. In 1985-1986, this was my 'driveway' and on this day of our trip we were able to return to have lunch at my old home. The house is open for tea only on weekends, so our driving tour of Scotland had totally been planned so we would end up here on this day … [Read more...] about Dumbarton Scotland – Lunch at Overtoun House
Day 6 in Scotland – Leaving the Highlands – Inveraray
As we made our way from from Glencoe toward the area of Glasgow and Loch Lomand it meant leaving the beauty of the Highlands behind. Inveraray is known as the gateway to the highlands. It appeared to be a charming little place - we were on a bit of a time crunch though and we may not have stopped at all - except.......Ris and I are huge Downton Abbey fans (our cats are named Branson and Sybil!) The Inveraray Castle is where one of the Christmas episodes was filmed. You may … [Read more...] about Day 6 in Scotland – Leaving the Highlands – Inveraray
Scotland Day 6 – Heading towards 'Home" through the Highlands of Glencoe
I was so happy to wake up to the glorious blue sky on Day 6 of our trip through Scotland. It had been my home in 1985 and 1986 and while I had been back to England since that time, this was my first trip back to Scotland since. It was the first trip to the country at all for my husband and daughter. Today was the day that we would not only be driving through the town where I had lived - but the building itself is now open for lunch and tea. We had arranged our day to be … [Read more...] about Scotland Day 6 – Heading towards 'Home" through the Highlands of Glencoe
