Today we finalized the last of our plans for our spring break trip to Ireland in March. I am determined to get the pictures of our trip to Scotland up BEFORE we leave! Ideally that would include the week in Iceland as well....but considering our recent trips to Australia, Italy and Slovenia are still (mostly) not yet done - I will take what I can get! If you have not read our adventures to this point of the trip, you can do that by clicking here. After our morning hike to see … [Read more...] about Back to our Scotland Trip – Finishing Off Day Five! Christmas and Seasonal Handmade Luminaries – Countdown to Christmas Projects
These have been one of those projects I tucked inside my head the second I saw the incredibly wonderful and versatile House dies last summer. It is one of the Pick your Projects for next week's LAST class for 2017. We spent a week in Iceland last spring and these houses just remind me of the trip and so many of the decorations we saw there. Of course it was the start of spring - but even in late March/early April - Iceland still ......had a Christmas feel to it, lol. In case you never make … [Read more...] about Christmas and Seasonal Handmade Luminaries – Countdown to Christmas Projects

I can't believe we are up to Day 5 of our Scottish Adventure! If you have missed any of the days up to this point (which include Edinburgh, St Andrews, Stirling and the Isle of Skye - then you can head over here -of course I have not figured out how to load them in reverse....so they are not in Day Order. If anyone has Blogger knowledge on that - I would love a mini tutorial! Anyway - HERE)We overnighted at the most wonderful Bed and Breakfast. Had we known it was so … [Read more...] about Glenmoriston, Grouse and Glenfinnan – Scotland Start of Day 5
Leaving Skye through Loch Ness to Southern Inverness – and is Choc Caramel Slice an Aussie or Scottish invention?
Leaving the Glen we took a look at our list and the hours of daylight left - we already realized that we would be arriving at our Bed and Breakfast in the dark (which we didn't want to do - but on a Stojk trip this is one of our traveling 'rules' that we break nearly every. single. day. Apparently we like driving in the dark without a clue of knowing where we are) We did want to see Eilean Donan maybe in the light and hopefully get some pictures of the fields of deer and stag before … [Read more...] about Leaving Skye through Loch Ness to Southern Inverness – and is Choc Caramel Slice an Aussie or Scottish invention?
Fairy Glen (Uig), Isle of Skye Scotland – still…..on Day 4 of our Scotland Trip
A couple of weeks ago we went to the movies to see Disney's Brave. As a mom, let me say, Disney does not treat us very well at all. In Brave at least the mom gets to live (because how many of their heroines are orphans??), but seriously Merida - she is Queen and she has lived a tad bit longer than you. Might I suggest you listen to her? That said - it has one fantastic sound track and the art crams all of the Scottish wonders into the small little area that is their … [Read more...] about Fairy Glen (Uig), Isle of Skye Scotland – still…..on Day 4 of our Scotland Trip
Today It's Back to Scotland!
In June I quit my office job with a goal to give focus to my own business again. July was spent traveling on some vacations with both of my sisters and my family and then in August it was "back to work". This month I was part of a challenge to blog every single day. And it has been just that - a challenge! This week has been so busy....then my phone updated and my watermark app no longer functions. I had 2 different groups of ladies here yesterday - and - well - I … [Read more...] about Today It's Back to Scotland!
Saturday Shopping
Yesterday I spent the ENTIRE day running errands. It was strategic. If I got every. last. thing. done. then I could stay at home all day on Saturday and cross thing after thing after thing off of my gigantic to do list.Best Laid Plans. Especially of mothers. If you don't have kids and plan to one day. You just wait.I got home from my very long Friday of errands - and my child slips in the little tidbit that "someone" will need to run her … [Read more...] about Saturday Shopping
Day 4 – Isle of Skye: Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and the Quiraing
Day 4 of our Scotland tripThe goal today was to see as many sites as possible on the Isle of Skye. We had prayed for good weather - a quick look on the internet and you will find there are plenty of people who have shared their one day on the Isle - and were in fog, rain and brutal wind. The sky was incredibly blue for us. It wasn't windy either and as the day progressed it was actually quite warm.We stayed in a delightful bed and breakfast. The family who owns it used to … [Read more...] about Day 4 – Isle of Skye: Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and the Quiraing
Evening of Day Three: The Stunning Castle at Eilean Donan
Our last stop of the day is just before you make it on to the Isle of Skye. I am not sure how long we stayed - maybe 30 minutes or so? And what you see here is a fraction of the pictures that we took while we were there. It was blue and clear, but the sun was starting to set so as you walked from one side to the other the colors changed. It was take your breath away beautiful.Since then I have been rather obsessed with pictures online - you can start HERE and then google … [Read more...] about Evening of Day Three: The Stunning Castle at Eilean Donan
Day Three – the Road to Skye
Day Three trip continues on from Doune Castle and Dunblane Cathedral. If you look at the road map you will see Stirling (where we started that morning). There are really only 2 roads that take you to the Isle of Skye (over in the top left corner). We chose to go via Pitlochery (half way up the map, right hand side) and then go east from there. Our goal was to make it to our B&B before it was "too dark"..... Have I mentioned that street lights in most of the country … [Read more...] about Day Three – the Road to Skye
